Had a retaining wall failure in my back yard last night. The rain had washed out some of the gravel and knocked over my 2 foot high railroad tie retaining wall. Approximately 40 to 50 feet of the fence has been damaged and is leaning about 15 degrees. The ground is supersaturated. Torrential rainfall last night. Doe Run Dam Reservior will likely overflow within the next 24 hours and cause severe flooding In Pioneer Park in Kenton County and cause Banklick Creek to flow out of its banks if the forecast holds true. If the forecast holds true for tonight, there will probably be local impassible roads in the Cincinnati metropolitan area and some locations in northern Kentucky. There will probably be rsitrictiins due to road closures during the next 24 hours.
Before the torrential rains, I was only to mow about half of my yard yesterday due to the extreme sogginess. Today, this sogginess is even greater and the sogginess is so great that I may not be able to mow it until at least 2 weeks and the grass may become at least a foot tall by the middle of next week in these areas.
